A new post of mine is up on Sasstrology! This was really fun to write. I mean, it's about Instagram and hashtags, so how could it not be?

Here's an excerpt:

#nofilter ARIES
They have a “what you see is what you get” attitude in general, and it extends to insta selfies and the like.

#instanature TAURUS

This Venus-ruled sign revels in the beauty all around them, and loves to inspire others to connect with Mother Earth.

The Moon/Pisces

The Moon‬ is the card of the day. This card is ruled by ‪‎Pisces‬. We are currently building to a Pisces full moon on Saturday. Now til then is an extra special potent time to access your intuition & follow your own flow. Also great for therapy or work on your psyche. Just don't get sucked into lower depths that don't serve you. If all else fails, listen to music or take a nap. Howl at the moon.

What do you think about this card?

mercury retro

Thinking about having Mercury retrograde in your chart. I have it, in Pisces, but when Mercury actually *turned* retrograde, it was in Aries. I'm wondering how this manifests, if at all. I have other Aries in my chart as well, which could blur any distinctions I try to make, along with a tricky Mars Uranus aspects to my Mercury. Sometimes I speak out of turn, put my foot in my mouth, or just don't *think* before I say something. It's so annoying. But this is juxtaposed with times of incredible shyness, awkwardness, and not feeling like I want to talk at all. Perhaps this is both the Aries and Pisces being expressed, going back and forth. An Aries Mercury gone sliding back into the choppy waters of Pisces, trying to be direct etc but getting lost in the waves. Or perhaps it is fully Piscean, and the other aspects to my Mercury is what screws me up. In any case, I would be completely lost without a journal for processing.

Who here has Mercury retrograde? Thoughts?

Jupiter / Expansion / Magic

We're almost two weeks into 2014. Whoa. I feel like I'm still settling in, getting my bearings back from the holidays. Our house is a wreck (although it did get some attention today, and I'm pleased to announce that the kitchen is no longer gross), and a lot of things seem up in the air. But it feels more focused  than it did last year. I feel like I have more of a sense of where I want to go. And most days I'm lucky if I make a baby step, the smallest of small, on that path. Sometimes it's just a thought, a reminder, a sentence I speak out loud. Obstacles intimidate, but thinking of Neptune, of Pisces here, and dissolving them or maybe just swimming around, over, or through...

The point I'm trying to make here is that I've been reading, noticing, people saying lately to focus on what you want to expand it, instead of fighting what's no longer working. This is very Jupiter. I'm in the midst of this amazing book that I would recommend to anyone, called Making the Gods Work for You, by Caroline Casey. I just finished the Jupiter chapter (yes, each planet gets a chapter, and there are also rituals to do for the witchily-inclined), and she talks about how Jupiter expands what it touches. Regarding things you would like to be rid of, she suggests:

"Jupiter tells us not to trouble our pretty little heads about how we are to be rid of our burdens. When we ritually place these things on the curb of our psyche, so to speak, Jupiter's Removal Service will take it away. We do not have to worry about the removal process. We just have to imagine putting it in bags..."

I think another point made by this is how by visualizing these things in their trash bags, it declutters our mental space and makes room for us to grow what we desire. Expanding it. Going with the flow instead of wrestling to get to that space.

So what do you want to expand? What do you want to draw in? What do you want to DO? Jupiter is in the sign of Cancer now, helping us to get in touch with our feelings and thoughts, the ones we cherish and protect under the crab shell... unintentional living won't fly here...

OH and this blog post by Tonya Leigh from French Kiss Life was a wonderful supplement to all this Jupiter talk, I thought... She says to fill up your life with what you want so there's no space for the shit... but much more eloquently. :)

Thanks for reading :) Maybe I'll be back again soon. Here's some photos from my neck of the woods. If you want more, find me on instagram @sightsofmaine

Happy Sunday

Are you riding the wave? The wave of water, of Pisces, of all the Pisces in the sky, in the earth, right now. There's a full moon building, which means the moon will be in Virgo, opposing all the Pisces. Are you moving toward a resolution internally or externally? Which houses hold your Pisces and Virgo? This can give you clues to the areas of life (which the houses represent) that are being activated now.

And let's not forget Saturn in Scorpio. This is working with the Pisces, as both are water signs. What has recently come to light? Things deep within us want air now, want us to recognize them. Want our attention. We are being called to resolve these ongoing issues in our lives. We can resist but, we can try to stuff it back down, but that won't make it disappear. By now you may know where you need to dedicate your energies...

I've been having trouble blogging lately. I think all the Pisces has made it difficult for me to put some things in written word. Feeling things, but having trouble translating them. Funny, because normally for me, writing is how I best express myself. But lately I've been feeling the expression in other ways. Internally. Simply FEELING things. Letting myself feel what I feel, trying not to block them as I so often do because I fear the intensity. Again, riding the wave.

Also, Tarot. Been sucking me in, I think something else that's been getting my attention, over blogging. And, shockingly, the spoken word. Trying to be more clear in my communications with others. Less foggy. Or maybe I'm still foggy but all the Pisces, which is foggy too, makes connecting, sharing, a little easier.

I didn't mean to write this much. I wanted to share some links and videos I've found lately that I thought others might enjoy. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the Pisces, or full moon, or whatever.

Really enjoyed his take on the current astro weather. :)

messages

A message I keep getting with Tarot is that I need to plan, visualize my goals.
Really, this is part of magic. Setting the goal, DEFINING the goal (which can prove quite difficult),
then using your resources to propel forward.

Many planets in Pisces now. Plus the moon is in Scorpio today and tomorrow.
Much of the Pisces planets are on my Jupiter. Spiritual expansion?
But Neptune's there... foggy.
Hmm.

The things I value most include my family and friends, of course.
Also, TRAVEL. Important to me. A goal. Ongoing. : )
And, Astrology (and Tarot). I really am inspired to beef up my knowledge. Make something more. Build my foundation more sturdily.

Both things seem limitless, and I think that is part of what draws me in. No upper limit. "The limit doesn't exist."

Another message I received from Tarot today was one of personal power. To be the one in charge of my emotional well-being. Not giving that power away to others.
I think this is something that a lot of sensitive types deal with, and I think, for me anyway, it has to do with my moon. My moon in Taurus, in the 8th house. I can get too invested in the feelings, emotions of others without even realizing it. This doesn't lead anywhere good.
I've gotten this message before but not as poignant as today. It's like the card (King of Cups, reversed) was shouting at me to reign that in, bring it back. To get a handle on it, which in turn can help me move further with my goals, visualizations...

What do you think? What does your moon say?

this is what it feels like in my head today!

"the square is agony"

About a month ago I was jotting down some random thoughts on the Astrological aspect of the square, in my phone. Actually... exactly a month ago. Hmm. Obviously I was frustrated while writing it, as it reads like this:

The square is agony.
Self inflicted?
Choices seem impossible.
Can't get out of my own way.
What to do? What to strive for?
Wanting conflicting things.
No balance like an opposition.

It's like an awkward poem. And yeah, it sounds kinda doom-and-gloom. It could be spun another way. And I do think that there are beneficial aspects of the square. It does create action (conflict) within oneself. I think that it is seeking, as opposed to a trine which is more about receiving. Less work, but there can also be less appreciation with a trine- almost an entitled sense. I feel the square truly does appreciate. Appreciates it when things go their way! ha.

The square is near and dear to my heart because my chart is FILLED with them. Let me count... sixteen. Without counting my asteroids and Ascendant/Midheaven, it's down to eight. This is mainly because I have a lot of Pisces and Sag in my chart (although I do have a Venus/Neptune one as well, but in different signs). Pisces and Sag are both mutable. There are definitely, definitely similarities between the two. I relate very much to both signs.

But that angle does create tension. I'm forever weighing choices, I DO get in my own way, and I even daresay an element of self-sabotage. Like what I wrote in my previous post, about what Doreen Virtue had said, about the ego not wanting you to believe that you're already good enough.

Getting down to the technicalities- a square is a 45* angle. They most commonly occur between signs of the same quality- cardinal, fixed, and mutable. One of each element occurs within each quality. It's like having different ways of dealing with something, having the square in your chart. Clashing perspectives that can leave you gridlocked.

What helps me a lot with this aspect is writing, journaling. Getting the crazy thought process out of my head and onto paper (or the interwebz). It lets me be more objective, and see what may be mental noise more than anything. Meditation can help that stress, as well...

The free way to see if you have a lot of squares, or any aspect, in your chart, is to mosey on over to astro (the "extended chart selection" page) and draw up a free chart, then cruise to the bottom of the page. You'll see a grid with the info, and from there you can google the aspect itself or the individual squares. For example, Mercury square Uranus, like in the chart below (not mine- just an example chart. :) ). Oh, and I like to select "draw aspect lines to Chiron." :)

What aspects do you notice in yourself, and how do you make them work for you?

more personal

i realized today that i haven't been super kind to myself lately. or, i've been a little TOO kind, aka indulgent, which for me and my pisces sun has the tendency to run away from me a little bit and then i get caught up in a cycle which is neither helpful or healthy. it just keeps me stuck. i gotta get back on track!

physically:
go to bed earlier (again. i did this for a while but the habit didn't quite stick)

go for walks (i'm decent at this one, but i want to maintain it)

yoga (i've fallen off the wagon, y'all, and my body officially hates me for it)

mentally:
well, the physically also applies to the mentally. :P but more specifically:

journaling daily again, including about the current moon sign

astro studies

dream-recording

making reasonable to do lists for each day, to be more organized and less overwhelmed feeling

taking breaks from damn technology

spiritually:
do the daily quick meditation sessions. i love thinking about it as a way to basically give your brain a workout, activating different areas than you usually use... inspiring.

using my oracle cards, and getting card readings from others

self-energy work. and/or... hit up a reiki share?!

obviously, all of these tie in with one another. :) i have some big decisions to make soon, and i'm just not going to be able to make a good one without first clearing all this junk out that keeps me in limbo. easier said than done, of course, heh.

oh, and happy full moon. here's a photo from over the weekend, so it wasn't quite full yet...

it's in taurus. opposing all that scorpio in the sky!

hope that everyone affected by sandy is staying safe & warm.

astro link

Soul Horoscopes (scroll down just a bit to get to them) are up at Soulgarden. It's about a ten minute video (give or take), all about your sign for the upcoming week. I think that the Astrologer, Chris Witecki, does a great job of making the week's transits easy to understand about how they relate to you.

"A belief is an idea your heart backs up."
"Do your beliefs allow you to love yourself, or put you in conflict with loving yourself?"
A couple quotes from the Pisces one... hmm.

Just wanted to share- not going to write a real post right now.

There's a lot of Scorpio in the sky, and a Pisces moon new for the morning. I think it may help us move forward in our goals (as it is trining the sun and Saturn in Scorpio), but in a less... obvious way. May be gathering inspiration, or refining a vision. What do you think?

Sun Sign Basics.

The sun sign is what western astrology is based on. It's the sign you reply with when someone asks you what your sign is. It's where the earth is, in relation to the sun, the day you were born. Every birthday marks your solar return. That's where the expression, "and many happy returns!" comes from.

I'm thinking I'll list the signs, ruling planet(s), and anything off the top of my head I can think of.

Aries: Ruled by Mars, the red planet. This energy is independent, assertive, with a strong sense of self. Not afraid of, may even willingly hunt for and take on, challenges.

Taurus: Ruled by Venus. Taurus is characterized by love and beauty in nature, environment, in general. The definition of such, will of course vary. Security. Finances. Steadfastness. (Some may say stubborn... what?)

Gemini: Ruled by Mercury. Intelligent, a bit erratic, unique. That brain is always thinking, always going, sometimes multiple trains of thought at once!

Cancer: Ruled by the moon. The moon waxes and wanes, and especially influences the emotional states of those with Cancer prominent in their charts.

Leo: Ruled by the sun. This energy is obviously warm and expansive, but wants/needs attention and recognition for all that they do. Also generally affectionate and generous.

Virgo: Ruled by Mercury, as well as Gemini. The energy is expressed differently in Virgo, though. Virgo is characterized by a strong work ethic and "purity of purpose" in their ideals (some may say "perfectionist"). Also loyal and truthful.

Libra: Ruled by Venus. This sign is all about relating, to themselves and to others. It also rules beauty and is intellectual in approach and nature. Balance is especially important for Libra types.

Scorpio: Ruled by Pluto, but before Pluto was discovered it was ruled by Mars. Scorpio's energy is deep and intense, and this power can be used for good or otherwise. They have potential to be great healers.

Sagittarius: Ruled by Jupiter. Expansion in all areas of life is a focus for Sadges. Travel, philosophy, education (formal or not), spirituality, art, and the like- these are all very important to this sign.

Capricorn: Ruled by Saturn. Very capable energy- they can do anything. May at times feel fearful of expanding, but this is the lower vibration. The sea-goat wants to keep ascending, and again- are EXTREMELY capable of doing so.

Aquarius: Ruled by Uranus, and was ruled by Saturn before Uranus was discovered. Aquarians are VERY independent, but in a different way than Aries. Aquarians just have to be, whoever they are. Period. To others this may seem rebellious, erratic, or weird, but Aquarians know that what others think doesn't really matter. ;)

Pisces: Ruled by Neptune, and was ruled by Jupiter before Neptune was discovered. Pisces energy is subtle but deep. Their lives may be lead more by intuition than they realize. Art, spirituality, and that which is unconscious, like dreams, interest them. Prone to confusion and escapism, however!

So there's my round up. What do you think?

From adventures in Eastport, Maine.

element repost + some updates

(It's crazy to me that this is from nearly two years ago, but I wanted to bring it back and I've also added some new info :) )

So, last time we talked briefly about your sun sign and what it means for you.
*[If you haven't yet done so, I highly encourage you to click either here or here to the right for your complete chart info. It literally only takes a moment and is an essential tool to get the most out of astro learnings!]

This week's topic is the elements. It's a part of astrology that I think gets kind of glossed over a lot, but in actuality is very interesting- it shows some of the themes of your expression in this life, your personality. Again, this is all from the top of my head, so it's quite likely that some things may not make sense; I fear this is the only way blog entries will ever be created, because I am a master procrastinator.

Okay, so elements. There are four: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. Let's break it down a little more:
Fire signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Air signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Water signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Okay. So there's a couple ways to go about analyzing this- 1.) The obvious- take the element of your sun sign and read on! 2.) Go on, take two seconds and get a free chart done at Astro and then look at the box like my masterpiece MS paint rendition to the left. If you are heavily weighted in one particular element, you'll want to read that info along with your sun sign's (if the two are, in fact, different). For example, in the box to the left, the sun sign is in Pisces (water), and there is a lot of other water going on, but there's also four signs in fire, so it would make sense to read the fire description as well. It can also be beneficial to read your rising sign's (a.k.a. ascendant- listed in the chart as AC) element too, as this shows how you portray yourself to the world, and aspects of the element may apply to you. The element of your moon sign ("earth" in the sample table) will show how your inner self relates to the world. As you know, there are many aspects to your personality. Am I getting way too confusing? If so, just ignore and read about your sun sign. I will clarify more on "ascendants" and "moon signs" in later posts, and this will all make sense. I promise! *2012 update note: I am currently reading Liz Greene's "Relating" (she is SUCH a great writer, I really can't emphasize enough how much I am enjoying her book- she is also the Astrologer behind astro.com). I am going to include some of her keywords for the elements- she calls the four elements the four psychological types. I thought it was interesting and wanted to include!

Anyway...

Fire signs. Expressive, emotional, sassy, stylin'. That's right- fire signs are well known for having a particular "look" all their own, that they are fantastic at cultivating (with varying degrees of effort). They are apt to try out the funky (Sag), provocative (Leo), bright and fun (Aries) styles. They have a unique creativity and will definitely let you know their point of view in pretty much any given situation. Fire signs are honest and often opinionated (although with Sags, it's more likely to change as they learn new information- but they believe what they believe when they believe it! I hope that makes sense to you :P). Fire signs NEED- I repeat, NEED- regular physical activity to stay in the best shape of their body AND mind! Fire signs, this is your therapy. Indulge it. Fire is the intuitive type, according to Liz Greene.

Earth signs. As such, are in touch with the earth and their own bodies. Nature makes them feel alive. Their clothing style tends to be nice and tailored, accentuating their favorite body parts. Back to being in touch- while they have a very rational, logical side to them (for everyday dealings, they try to be as no-nonsense and direct as possible), most have a (possibly unearthed) spiritual side as well, which allows them to feel more fulfilled. These earthy types  may be very interested in "new age"-esque topics; perhaps more so than they let on at first. Earth signs are striving to find deep meaning in their lives, and a way to actively pursue it. A lot of these folk are very involved with the arts, (not to mention talented and willing to put in the time)- it grounds them, challenges them, and helps bring mental clarity. Earth is the sensation type.

Air signs. Talkative and always have a new topic to discuss with just about anyone! They tend to be friendly on a surface level, but can become more aloof the more you try to get to know them. They may even be an open book about most things, but have parts of them that will take a long time coming out (at their own discretion, of course), or not at all. Like the element air, they can be impossible to pin down, which really is part of their charm! Air signs are perfect for any social gathering, as they can find something to discuss with just about everyone in the room. This is the most eclectic bunch, style-wise; although comfort usually greatly influences any wardrobe choice, they'll add a funky kind of flair so even if it's pajama bottoms and an old top, it's so much more than that. Meditation works wonders for slowing down and bringing to present the busy minds in this element. Air is the thinking type.

Water signs. Like their opposite element, fire, water signs are emotional but are probably repressed a bit much to adequately express it without sounding (or getting) a bit crazy. Water signs are a varied bunch, just as water in it's forms on this Earth are (think the oceans, lakes, streams, tidal pools, and so on...). Some are introverted, some extroverted, but most go back and forth between the two. This is because water signs need time in their heads to swim around and get centered and recharged in between interacting with other humans. If they don't have enough time for this, then they tend to get stressed and cranky. And more emotional! And that's usually not good for anyone involved, as water signs have the propensity to hang on to negative feelings for way longer than is healthy. It's important for them to learn how to simply let go of things and feelings that bring them down- gentle exercise like just taking a stroll around the block and meditation can help. Water is the feeling type, according to Liz Greene.

Well that's what I got for today. ;) Any questions about the elements or astrology in general, in any area of life, hit me up. I love talking about this stuff! Much love.

08 July 2012

early bird

it's what i am today. also yesterday- woke up hours before my boys, they are still sleeping as i write this. however, the fact that i decided to do something productive with this rare time most likely means that someone will come out into my writing space any time now...

it's a gorgeous morning. my desk faces a window, and out it i can see the pale moon in the blue sky, see a green, green field and trees, and hear some birds and other critters running around. oh, and my coffee just finished being made, so.

what's up today? moon in pisces, 17* now, so a little more than halfway through. this makes a nice trine to the sun as i type this. the sun is our true self, the moon our hidden, emotional self, so when they trine- either by transit, or if you have this aspect in your chart- it's harmonious. your wants and needs match up, you feel comfortable with yourself and have a strong sense of self. and right now, i feel oddly calm and awake for 8:23am on a sunday.

i've been thinking about shadow sides (polarities, aka opposite signs) somewhat lately, and how i am affected by mine. i'm a pisces and so my polarity is virgo- i talked about this once here. it's funny because for so long i wasn't aware of the virgo side of me at all. i just couldn't relate because it wasn't there, or so i thought. then, when mars the past 6 months has been in and out of my 12th house, which is ruled by virgo, i started... seeing it. i couldn't not see it. something that had been hidden (12th house rules this), had been revealed. and now it's there, and i'm working with it. trying to. never realized how controlling i could be, how detail-oriented, scrutinizing, fault-finding, obsessive, and such a perfectionist i could be (the detrimental kind, where you feel defeated all the time).

(and yes, these are all lower qualities of virgo itself. the higher qualities of virgo are amazing- selfless service, nurturing others, spiritual, focus on health, manifesting their visions for themselves and the world. and i feel like virgo is also a transformational sign. they can go through hell and come back with the same positive outlook, just wiser. oh, and they're also known for having an insane work ethic. i love virgos!)

so i'm trying to transform some of these lower qualities into higher ones, and it is a bitch. but i'm thankful to see it. thankful to see the start of the roots. i realize that anxiety fuels much of this. the other night while laying down in bed but before sleep i cleared my chakras, which helped, but i could still feel anxiety in there. so i started taking deep breaths, and i pinpointed it. the very front of my stomach felt this very tangible anxiety. so i breathed very deeply into that space, visualizing the breaths dissolving it. then i did a short visualization of pulling the cord of anxiety out from that place (my virgo sister-in-law just took a class where she learned, among other things, how to cut cords and she taught me how to do it). right after i did it, i got a sudden jolt in my right forearm. like, it actually hurt a bit, but was very quickly gone. and it helped. meditation is healing, and i know how much i benefit from it, but i still don't do it every day.

anyway- that was a tangent. i was going to say, i have to keep reminding myself to step back a bit, relax, not get riled up. because it is futile. and so, writing more. photography more. attempting to create/find a meaningful job.

i think next time i will write a little bit about chakras. also, i have a post that i'm working on that isn't coming to fruition as quickly as i thought it would that's about a card reading i did. en route.

i think that's all for now. enjoy this day, wherever you are.

Neptunian

Wow, did today turn super cranky for me. Figuring out where to go on these trails of life can be so hard sometimes. I mean every age and stage is both strange and wonderful, but there seems to be something about mid-20s life that's confusing. I feel pulled in so many different directions, and therefore feel like I'm getting nowhere. Not to complain, it's just a source of frustration for me when I have time, like I do at this moment, to think about it. Now how to tie this into astrology? Neptune has been traveling retrograde for quite a while now. Neptune is a different energy; both illusions and dreams that can be realized, higher selves and the most selfish of lower vibrations. It's the ruler of Pisces. Astrologers say that retrograde Neptune is like being in a fog, a mist, basically not clear headed. And I'm feeling that. Sometimes it can be challenging to know what's real and what isn't, from thoughts to situations to relationships to communication.

However! It is going direct soon. Real soon. November 10th! The thing with Neptune is because it's such an out there planet (in more ways than one), it's influence is kind of a general, less obvious one. It's not in your face, it's just kind of in the background, fading in and out of influence with anyone's particular chart. Going back into a direct motion should help things that have felt so fuzzy become clearer, help us to better see, or create, our paths. I'm going to go with that. ;) And in the meantime, get my stuff in order, maybe make some lists, remember to breathe, and try to convince myself that sometimes baby steps really are the best way to reach a goal you really care about. Even when it seems really intimidating and unobtainable at the present moment.

Okay, so that was a ramble. We also have Venus and Mars in Sagittarius right now, which is always fun. You might be feeling the urge to travel, exercise, read/learn more, or just get outside and feel the air. Fun dates and having a lighthearted, upbeat connection with romantic partners sounds good. Good for sexy time too. ;) So basically, enjoy this influence and maybe let it distract you, just for awhile, from all the other not so fun stuff. Keep it in check though, so you don't overindulge and end up in a not so great space.

Peace, love, and whatever else tickles your fancy!

29 August 2010

Well Well Well...

Why hello there, I'm glad that you've stumbled upon this new little blog I have set up. I have another, which is, simply, piscesun.blogspot.com, which is everything to do with Mom-hood, but this one is about another passion- Astrology.

Astrology is an interesting, incredibly multifaceted subject. One reason I love it so much is how it never ceases to surprise me- just when I start to dare deem myself a buff, a whole new wave of information comes at me and I feel like a newbie all over again. It's exciting! It keeps it fresh, and keeps me wanting more.

So, what's the point of this blog, you ask? I suppose you could say it's to keep my brain active, and to keep my thoughts on the subject organized. I'll write on a certain topic entry by entry, and just see where it goes...

The basics- Your Sun Sign.
a.k.a.- what people mean when they say, for instance "I'm a Pisces." It's the most common component of astrology in the western hemisphere- virtually everyone knows their sun sign. But there's more to it- to yourself- than that! Think of your sun sign as the center of your own personal solar system- sun (self) in the center, with the planets (influences in your behavior/how you express yourself) orbiting around you.

We'll talk about each of the planets in due time, but for today, let's break it down and see what your sun sign says about you. Mind you, I haven't done this kind of thing before, and it's mostly off the top of my head, so forgive if something sounds off. Keep in mind, too, if you were born on a cusp (at the end or beginning of a sign), to read both signs' descriptions to get the big picture.

Aries: The ram. Assertive and spunky; sassy, to say the least. The first sign of the zodiac, Aries does what is best for him or herself first and foremost- not to say that they can't be highly empathetic, caring people. They absolutely are. It's just that they're not as likely to get suckered into other people's BS- they can see through it and won't let themselves become victims. Which, as a sucker-Pisces, I really admire. You can count on Aries to be honest, to tell it like it is, and to have some very interesting insight. Aries rules the head, so you can expect most Aries to have fabulous hair (it can go the opposite way as well, but to this day I cannot recall ever meeting an Aries who didn't have enviable tresses).

Taurus: The bull. Taureans are the sensualists of the Zodiac. They use their five (or more?) senses to get the best they possibly can out of all areas of life. Ruled by the element Earth, Taureans are, well, earthy. They thrive on being outdoors and getting plenty of nature time. This restores and recharges their spirit; it helps bring them balance. Be it by gardening, really getting the dirt under their nails, or going for a nice, long bike ride, the great outdoors does wonders for the bull. Taureans aren't always the most talkative of signs, (although this depends on other planet's positions, notably Mercury, but more on that later), but when they do speak, they make it count, and like Aries before them, say what they mean and mean what they say. However, if you get one on a subject they're passionate about, be prepared to sit back and listen; you might be pleasantly surprised by what you learn- both on the subject at hand, and about the Taurus him or her self.

Gemini: The twins. Geminis are a dualistic sign, ruled by the element of air and by a mutable quality. Geminis always have a lot going on in their brains- typically way more than just one or two lines of thought. Due to this high amount of mental energy, it's important for Geminis to channel this to avoid serious build-up which can seep out in less than desirable ways. And all therapeutic reasons aside, Geminis can be some of the most creative types in the Zodiac. Due to their angle of looking at the world, they can capture moments in a way others would never consider, be it through photography, writing especially, or even creating a new and unique exercise regime.

Cancer: The crab, ruled by good ole' h20. The ruling "planet" of Cancer is actually the Moon, and many of these lunar qualities are shared by the crab. Both wax and wane, although with Cancer it's emotional. A lot is going on underneath that shell though, so don't be surprised if instead of talking about what's going on in those heads of theirs, you get a seemingly impermeable brooding aura. The trick with Cancer is that they show you how they feel; and when they are feeling good, you will certainly reap the benefits as well. Cancer is without a doubt one of the most caring signs and are typically at their best within a (healthy) relationship. Their home is very special to them (whether it's a tiny room or a whole house), and will add their own special touches to make it cozy and private. Cancers care about their family more than anything.

Leo: The fiery lion of the wheel. Leos are ruled by the sun, and as such, thrive on attention. So many famous actors and musicians are Leos it's not even funny- they just gravitate toward the spotlight. Leos always try to be at the top of their game, and are definitely fighters. They are typically very loyal in relationships, partially due to the fact that a Leo won't just date someone for the sake of dating- they are typically very into whoever they are with, and see them in a very special way. Leos feel a wide range of emotion, being a fiery, fixed sign, but may be repressed in one or more of these areas. Physical activity is paramount to their well-being- stress can have the most adverse effects on Leos and Scorpios, so do things that make you feel good as much as possible, and don't feel guilty about it!

Virgo: The virgin. No, this doesn't automatically make you a prude! Usually quite the opposite. ;) It has more to do with purity of purpose- Virgo is the sign of service, and they want to help their fellow human and do their part to make the world a better place. Ruled by Mercury, like Gemini, Virgos have an abundance of mental energy going on, all the time. This can lead to supplementing their lifestyle to help calm their busy brain down! Virgos can definitely over-think and subsequently over-worry every little detail- but it's just because they want the outcome to be perfect. They can be critical, but also very fun to be around. They tend to have a wide range of interests and, like their fellow Earth sign Taurus, need ample time outside, even if it's something as simple as slowing down and looking at the ocean.

Libra: The scales. Libras are talkative, intelligent, very personable, and can possess a bit of a nervous energy. Libra is the sign of partnerships, but to be in a successful one, they first need to be fully attuned to themselves, and the rest will follow (This goes for everyone, but especially those who are heavily weighted with Libra in their chart). Libras have a lot of great ideas, but can find it challenging to manifest them to the ideal level they have in their head. Decisions can be problematic, as the Scales can see both sides of any quandary so perfectly. They are optimists, and always the bright side of life. They often have a refreshing and surprisingly unique yet sensible view of life; which oddly enough is staying true to their emblem, the scales. Balance is something Librans can struggle with because they can be thrown out of balance so easily, which makes physical activity and an activity such as yoga and/or meditation all the more important for their delicate constitutions.

Scorpio: The scorpion. Duh. Oh, Scorpios. Often touted as the most misunderstood sign of the Zodiac, they're really not that bad. It's just that- misunderstood. They tend to keep emotions under the radar, and can come off as cool and aloof instead. But they really do care highly about the people and situations in their surroundings. Scorpios are the healer of the Zodiac, and alternative therapies such as polarity massage and Reiki suit them perfectly. They usually feel things, but may not always trust their intuition, and turn to trying to be what they perceive as "rational" instead. However, their intuition in actuality is finely tuned and they are rarely wrong in this respect, so once they learn how to trust it, their confidence and what they can achieve really soars.

Sagittarius: The archer. Very optimistic and highly idealistic. They have a tendency to put people, places, and things on pedestals, and when they don't live up to these expectations, it can dramatically hurt the Sag. Sags are always trying to expand their horizons and get the most out of the world. They are the explorers, the adventurers. Finding a positive philosophy by which to live their life is important, yet can also be challenging, thus their exploration. They make fabulous conversationalists, and always have an entertaining story to share. Reflection is important for Sags, be it by keeping a journal or writing music, to aid their journey and to keep from making the same mistake twice (or more).

Capricorn: The sea goat. Capricorns are unique individuals- I have the hardest time guessing which people fall under this sign, even though I know so many of them. Capricorns are definitely hard working and detail oriented. They can have really nervous temperaments underneath the surface, but can sometimes control how it comes across. They can be worriers, and second guess themselves, even though they are usually right the first time. Typically prudent with money, although they do like nice things, and like giving nice things to others. Capricorns are intelligent and have a way about them that makes them quietly fascinating. They are very suited to the arts and subjects such as history. They definitely have a fun streak in there (although it may be dripping with sarcasm); you'll see it more as you get to know them!

Aquarius: The water bearer. Highly intelligent, more often than not leading an eccentric or bohemian lifestyle. The Aquarian is ruled by air, yet is characterized by water. This means they have a sort of balance between their mind, which is always going (often with intellectual pursuits), and their emotions, which they tend to be quite in touch with, although they do intellectualize them. Aquarians are the scholars of the Zodiac- even when they finish school, they never really stop learning. They devour any kind of literature and love debating different topics. They are often interested in, for lack of a better phrase, "new-age" type topics, and try to truly understand them. All of this mental activity, however, means that they must find some way to squeeze light physical exercise into their daily routine. It serves as a bath for their brain, which usually reaches new revelations during or after.

Pisces: The fish. The final sign of the Zodiac. It's a little strange to write about the Pisces, since I am one, but here goes. Pisces are typically recognizable by their eyes- something about them is distinct, be it color, expression, or size (fish like? hmm.) Bear in mind that Pisces is symbolized by two fish going in opposite directions- an apt metaphor for the Piscean life. They tend to be having some sort of constant battle between what they are currently doing and would like to be doing, or should be doing, etcetera. Pisceans are great at second-guessing themselves even though their intuition is typically correct. They can be very sociable and outgoing at times, and on a whim become a recluse, impossible to get a hold of. They do mean well, however, (at least most of the time), and have to be careful not to get suckered into other people's negativity.

Welp! That's all I got for today. Let me know what you think, good or bad, and we can discuss it. :) Peace & Love.
