musings inspired
*My dudes watching last weekend's Scorpio full moon... yay for warm nights!
*I'm cross-posting from everyday adventures (my totally unfocused, whatever blog), but will add a little extra here as well!
*To better understand astrology and myself... I have began keeping a celestial journal, of sorts. (I ordered one on Amazon, and I was so happy to get it in the mail today... but I ordered the 2011 edition instead of the 2012! d'oh... but in my defense, why were they even selling 2011 anymore?!) So, I will return that one, and will get a 2012 one, but until then just have my own.
*I am focusing on the transits of the moon. I was reading on skywriter (amazing site, btw) that, because the moon runs through all the signs so quickly, you can observe how you feel when certain aspects are made with your personal planets. Get an idea of how you're affected. Like, when I felt insane the other night? Oh look, Scorpio moon directly opposing my natal moon in Taurus, in the 8th house. And it passed quickly, like the moon through degrees, but when it was exact, it was intense. Feeling inadequate, lost, unloved. I found this out after the fact, by the way. There's a quote about this, about not being controlled by the stars, but rather being freed by them... Astrology helps me like that. Helps me to understand certain influences, and that even when I'm having a crazy Caroline moment, that it's temporary, and I can choose how to behave... or something.
*Anyway, today my 3rd and 6th houses are really being activated by the moon. Communications, work, writing. I've been studying for about an hour, got my journal all organized, cleaned around the house, story time with the babe, who is now napping. Talked to and firmed up plans with an old friend I haven't seen in... years! :) Moon on my Mars today, in the 3rd=action from communication, with an old friend=very Sagittarian. :)
*And yesterday, it was funny, day two of this journal and early in the day the transiting (current) moon was conjunct (right on) my Saturn, in the second house. Now, one of the themes of the moon is home. Saturn is all about duty, work, achievements. Well, I woke up, had some coffee, made my kid breakfast, and did a MAJOR house(apartment)clean. Stuff had gotten really messy. Then later on in the day when I did my journaling, I find that, oh, well that makes sense, as together, Saturn and the moon, that I want to work on my home. Just funny things like that. :)
*If you want to get an idea on your transits, it's quite easy to find. I use a combo of sources... here on astro, next to "Please select the type of chart you want," select "Natal charts and transits." It puts all the transiting planets on the outside of your chart. Also, if you have an iPhone or iPad, you can get Astrolabe's app Celeste, which after you put in your chart you can select "weather" and it tells you aspects that the transiting planets are making to your natal ones. (aka the ones in your own chart.) If you're interested in doing this but are having trouble, let me know! I'd be happy to help... I'm also happy to do short readings, for now, for free, as I am still learning, and you would totally be a guinea pig. :)
*That's all for now... maybe more later.

gemini moon
Soo, I've been writing more in my other blog lately (and by lately, I mean the past three days- in a row! :|). I think this may continue to be the trend... I'm writing about this and that in it, but am including Astrology stuff as well... which I will then copy and paste over to here, as well! I'm also working on a post about Mercury for this blog... but may cross-post that one as well. Anyway, this is what I wrote today, under this Gemini moon--
Today the moon is in Gemini (not for too much longer, though). It's trining (making a 120* angle- favorable aspect) to Saturn, which is in Libra, so I think this could be a good time to brainstorm about your goals, how you'd like to move forward in life. Could be career, love, just in general. You don't need to overexert your brain, though, and nothing that you come up with has to be set in stone, so don't stress too hard, just appreciate the support from the sky. ;) This is what I tell myself, anyway, when I start to freak out about not having it all figured out at once. ha. That "of two minds" influence is affecting us all... especially us mutable types!

New Moon Love
It seems as though many people I know struggle with knowing what it is they truly want out of life. Or they know it, but have challenges in meeting it. There are often barriers to getting what we really want, which is where hard work and determination come in, of course. But often I personally have trouble just narrowing my focus, you know? Like, I can see all these avenues I could venture down, but which one? Anyway, I'm rambling. The point is, we are super close to a new moon in Aries (meaning the moon and sun will both be in the same degree of Aries just a little later this morning). Aries is the beginning of the zodiac (it corresponds with the beginning of spring). There's also a lot of other planets in Aries right now. So, basically, now is a great time to visualize and plant the seeds of what it is you want to achieve. And just to make a small step toward it, in your busy life, to find just moments or extended moments where you can do what it is you really want to do. Sorry if this sounds vague, I'm slightly distracted by the sounds of "Curious George" right now... and thinking of the billion things I have to do today. But think about it. If you're lacking clarity, ask for clarity. Visualize what you see blocked as becoming released. And if you only have some inkling, move in the direction toward it. Trust yourself, because that inkling I think is probably correct. Even if there's more than one, they may all go together and you just can't see it yet. I think this will be supported by Mercury going retrograde (backward); at this moment it's in Aries, but will be going back to Pisces very shortly. I think this will be good for introspection and reevaluating things to make sure we're going in the direction we want. I think it will also be really good for meditating/prayer too, especially with Neptune in Pisces and Uranus in Aries- I'm thinking, flashes of knowledge, intuition, that seem to come from nowhere, if we're paying attention. I've been getting some of that stuff while I'm drifting off to sleep, but I'm still conscious, so I realize it and am like, woah! But then I get sleepy and fall asleep and only remember a sliver in the morning. Guess I need a dream journal. ;) Also this retrograde brings my Mercury return, because of course I was born during a crazy mercurian time. ;)
*Also inspired by moonplutoastrology.com to draw some cards... I use oracle cards as opposed to tarot, but I thought I would draw the three for this new moon and I'm happy with the ones I got, they all seem to go with what I've been thinking about... psychic gifts, being creative & creative action, and optimism. Love how they all seem to go together...

New Moon, So Near
Hi :) Just popping in... I don't have anything planned out to write. Mostly, happy Aquarius (started yesterday), a breath of fresh air, as it is, however the moon is in Capricorn so I'd definitely call it a transition phase, still. But the new moon in Aquarius (new moons are always in the same sign as the current sun sign, while full moons are always in the opposite) is happening late late tomorrow. And the second (aka Aquarius) new moon of the year=Chinese New Year! It's going to be the year of the Dragon, Water Dragon to be more precise. I've read that the days leading up to the Chinese New Year is the time to clean house (metaphorically or physically) to allow for the new year to fully breathe in. (More info on Year of the Dragon here, which also happens to be my guilty pleasure gossip website :P). What else? idk, really. I see the successive Western and then Chinese New Year as kind of a re-upping of resolutions (if you're into that), intentions for the New Year, etc. Like, you're getting off-track, well now is a great time to give it some extra oomph. moon pluto has a nice write up about this New Moon with some suggestions for how to get the most out of setting your intentions. I'm currently staring at the vision board I made, kind of reevaluating some of the things I have on there... And realizing others that should be on there, that aren't. One of my personal goals for the year, which is so simple, but powerful I think for me, since I can be inconsistent, is taking my multivitamins, along with extra Vitamin D and Magnesium since I tested low for both, along with my Bach's flower essences for my mood. Will report back on progress. Anyway, I didn't really write much about astrology. Want to take this blog back to the original direction it was going in... posts soon xoxo, would love to hear about your intentions, feelings, etc., surrounding the New Moon, Chinese New Year, life in general! And sorry for all the run-on sentences!

Morning and Snow
Set your intentions. This could be the same as your goals. They could be emotional, work-related, anything really. I woke up this morning and unintentionally looked at some photos of various countries in Europe. Which made me... want to visit Europe. And feel a little bad about myself for not having been yet. But I didn't want that feeling to stick around with me all day, ya know? (It's been kind of a weird week, emotionally, for me). So instead I'm making myself think of ways I could make it happen. Thus, looking up part-time jobs where I would actually use my degree (I know, amazing :P). Because this has always been my greater goal... to see the world. Any job I could have would be the means by which I could accomplish this. Soo, yeah. That was kind of a ramble. My point is, don't beat yourself up over this, or that, or whatever. It's really okay. If what you're beating yourself up over is truly important to you, find a way to make it right, even if it's figuring out baby steps to get there. And if it isn't... find a way to let it go. Let yourself be lighter. Either way, you're allowing for new, nice energy to come in. Which is pretty dope.
Okay, that was WAY more than I was planning on writing. Just a weird morning, I guess. It's snowing out. It's actually pretty, and I generally hate snow. The sky? There's a lot of Earth in the planets. This is a stabilizing energy. Helps us to set and accomplish goals. Less lofty, more realistic steps to reach the goal. I know I need this, being so watery and fiery. I can get lost in the big picture and the future and never get anywhere. So this is good for me. And I bet it's good for you, too. Venus is in the last degrees of Aquarius, which can be a little detached, which can be good, bad, both in relation to relationships of all kinds. It can be good because it can let you take a step back and talk non-emotionally about issues, or happy things, in your relationship (of any kind), and actually get somewhere as a result. It can be bad if you feel like you're not really connecting at all with your partner on an emotional level. But for the most part I think this is kind of... clearing. Venus is moving into Pisces in just a few days, and will be the only "major planet" in a water sign (although Chiron will be chilling out there, too.) I honestly think that this will be a nice splash in the sky, to help chill out us water types, and even the non-water types. It'll be a nice time, too, to see the fruits of your labor, so to speak, from the Venus in Aquarius. So, yeah. Enjoy. Don't get hung up on annoyances, toxic thoughts (this is more a reminder to myself, I don't want to sound preachy). Just... be. And help yourself be who you want to be, what you want to be... Love yourself. We're all so hard on ourselves. Try being nice, even if it's just for a short time at first...

It's rainy out there
Astrology gets it's own blog, but I have another one, too, since I'm such a scatterbrain:
